Ajaccio, located on the French island of Corsica, is known as the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. The cobbled streets of the old town and the beautiful sandy beaches make Ajaccio a popular destination. In addition, the city offers a variety of sites to see such as the Palais Fesch, which houses the Fine Arts Museum, and the Maison Bonaparte, Napoleon's birthplace.
Finally, Ajaccio is the ideal base for exploring the rest of Corsica, especially neighbouring towns such as Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio.
