Nantes

Nantes, the gateway to Brittany, is the birthplace of Jules Verne and the cradle of surrealism. France's most creative city can be visited (on foot or by bike) all year round along a green line that links the Machines de l'Ile, the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and the permanent collection of over 130 works by international artists in public spaces. Also worth a visit is the Estuaire Nantes <> Saint-Nazaire collection, with its 33 works of contemporary art. As well as being a creative culinary scene, Nantes is also the ideal base from which to discover the Muscadet vineyards.
