CHARLEROI, 15 October 2024 – The first school holiday of the 2024-2025 academic year is here. Pupils in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation will be enjoying a two-week holiday starting this Friday evening. Brussels South Charleroi Airport is expecting to welcome just over 510,000 passengers during this period, including almost 32,000 on Saturday. Our partners and everyone who works at the airport are doing everything they can to make sure your journey is safe and stress-free.

Just over 510,000 travellers are expected at Brussels South Charleroi Airport during the autumn break, between Friday 18 October and Sunday 3 November 2024. On average, 30,000 passengers will be travelling through BSCA every day. They will board one of the 188 flights operated each day to and from Brussels-Charleroi airport.

The first departures of the 2024-2025 school year are here! And that means slightly more traffic through the airport,” observes Philippe VERDONCK, Chief Executive Officer of Brussels South Charleroi Airport. “Our teams will do everything in their power to ensure a pleasant experience with us. It is worth remembering though that the airport can be busier during school holidays, so we strongly recommend arriving three hours before your scheduled departure time.

There will be plenty of people looking for some sunshine during these two weeks; the south is always popular. The Mediterranean basin and the Canaries remain among the most popular destinations for autumn holidays. The changes to the school year combined with the extension of the autumn holiday to two weeks in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation also mean that lots of families can now travel to see their loved ones living beyond our borders.
