JULY 2022 RESULTS

Charleroi, 8 August 2022 – Brussels South Airport publishes its figures for July 2022 today.

The airport was pleased to welcome 865,129 passengers last month, a 7% increase compared with the same period in 2019 (808,025 passengers), despite the weekend of 23 and 24 July, which was disrupted by the strike by Ryanair flight crew.

It is also worth highlighting some impressive performances by our airlines: Air Corsica, which recorded a 48% increase in passenger numbers compared with 2019, Ryanair with 12% growth and Pegasus with 1% more passengers compared with its pre-pandemic numbers.

Occupancy rates are also improving with an average of 181 passengers per flight in July 2022 compared with 182 in July 2019, almost bringing us back to pre-Covid levels.

In July, the terminal’s departure and arrival boards saw the number of destinations gradually increase to an average of 164 flights a day, including arrivals and departures, compared with 152 flights a day in 2019.

The five most popular destinations last month were Milan, Alicante, Marseille, Budapest and Bucharest.
